Iowa Pork Producers Rib Challenge

Calling all professional chefs!

Winefest and the Iowa Pork Producers want YOU to submit a rib recipe that best reflects Iowa. Rib is the cut, prepared any way – the more creative, the better! The winning recipe will be served as samples at the Iowa Pork Lawn Party on Sunday, May 31stat Salisbury House and Friday, June 5that Principal Sips and the City.

  • Main ingredient MUST be pork ribs
  • Submit recipe to [email protected]no later than Friday, April 19th
  • Judging and tasting will occur on Wednesday, April 22ndat the National Pork Board, from 5-7 pm,where the winner will be announced that night!
    • You will be given a stipend of $50 to serve 40 – 50 samplesto judges and guests
    • You or a representative for you must be present and serve the samples

2020 Rib Challenge

The winner of the Rib Challenge will not onlyhave their recipe prepared for the Iowa Pork Producers Lawn Party guests, they will also walk away with prizes!

First Place

  • $500 Cash Prize
  • 6 tickets to the Iowa Pork Lawn Party
    • Sunday, May 31st– 1-4 p.m. at Salisbry House
  • 2 tickets to the Community Choice Grand Tasting
    • Saturday, June 6th– 6-9 p.m. at Cowles Commons and Capital Square
  • Iowa Pork Producers Prize

 Second Place

  • 2 tickets to the Willis Grand Tasting
    • Saturday, June 6th– 6-9 p.m. at Cowles Commons and Capital Square
  • Iowa Pork Producers Prize

If you are the winner, you will have the opportunity to partner with the Iowa Pork Producers Association and serve your winning recipe at the Iowa Pork Lawn Party. We would also like to feature your winning recipe at Sips & the City, which can either be prepared and served by you or Winefest can hire a caterer.
