Winefest Des Moines invites you to uncork the possibilities by participating in our 2010 events. Since its inception in 2003, Winefest has grown from a two-day event to multiple events celebrating fine food and fine wine throughout the year. Let me share with you some additional reasons why this could be a grand addition to your existing business.
Winefest Des Moines affords our guest vintners and representatives the opportunity to increase their presence in Iowa’s growing marketplace, as well as to enjoy the warm hospitality of its residents. Our events are designed to increase that exposure with events such our Grand Tasting, as well as Sips & The City – a tasting experience directed at young urban professionals and emerging wine consumers.
Iowa is a state with a rapidly evolving wine industry. Five years ago, Iowa had 13 wineries. Now Iowa has 78 wineries and scores of other Iowans are interested in producing wine commercially. Furthermore, wine consumption in Iowa has increased 25% since 2003. This increased consumption and awareness creates tremendous opportunity for wine distribution from out of state winemakers.
Winefest Des Moines is not just a festival in a glass…it’s a celebration with a cause. Winefest’s mission directs its participant to enrich the cultural, recreational and economic landscape of metropolitan Des Moines. This, in turn, creates economic growth opportunities, and builds community vitality. The net proceeds of Winefest 2010 will be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) of Greater Iowa. JDRF is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for diabetes.
