2008 Winefest Des Moines Program Overview

Winefest Des Moines combines the richness of wine country with the understated elegance of our mid-sized Midwestern city. Winefest hosts notable national and international vintners and wine importers, and pairs the world’s best wines with innovative culinary creations from guest chefs.

Winefest Des Moines will kick off its sixth year of fundraising, wine events with the Gala Auction at The Sheraton in West Des Moines.  To start off our guests will be enjoying a champagne reception while bidding on authentic, once and a lifetime opportunities in our silent auction.  Next our guests will be privileged to enjoy a first-class, five-course, italian meal prepared by guest chef Nate Appleman of A16 in San Francisco, CA.  Followed by the live version of our auction.

The elegant Prima Dinners invite participants to enjoy some of the world’s finest wines paired with unique culinary creations from notable local chefs at some of Des Moines’ most unique cultural locations. Celebrity guest vintners and chefs are on hand to make it a one-of-a-kind evening. Locations include Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Azalea, Bistro Montage, and the Wakonda Country Club.

Experience Downtown Des Moines’ beautiful Capital Square/Nollen Plaza at Sips and the City. Wine lovers and novices can enjoy lively music and unique wines from guest vintners paired with the finest in gourmet cheeses and breads. Following Sips in the City, Winefest ticket holders can venture downtown to the city’s many restaurants and entertainment hot-spots for Winefest specials.
